Personal Profile

Mark has been making art since he was a child. While he has encountered many artists and designers over his career and learned a nearly infinite amount from these individuals, the origins of Mark's love for art comes from his father Frank who spent many years as a wildlife artist.
At a young age Mark used to sit for hours and pour over books filled with Star Wars concept art by draftsmen and painters like Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston. He would later discover and come to admire concept artists and illustrators such as Frank Frazetta, Robert McGinnis, Beksiński, Ian McCaig, Yoshitaka Amano, Andrew Loomis, and Doug Chiang.
Professionally Mark has worked as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator for Warner Brothers, Twentieth Century Fox, and in automotive advertising for domestic and international car companies, and currently works with three other designers on the podcast Okay Team! A Young Designer’s Guide.
Mark has a Master of Fine Art in UX Design and Research (Experience Design), a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting and Graphic Design, and an Associate of Applied Science in Photography, and is an Assistant Professor.
